does anybody else remember episodes with something dark following people?? like a shadow but the wrong shape i remember seeing it in shop windows or mirrors maybe? it was TOO TALL or lumpy or something. and it got closer each time you saw it this TERRIFIED me as a kid and im trying to figure out if it was real or if i dreamed it because nobody i know remembers this show at all

the shadow episode!! thats the ONLY one i remember clearly from when i was kid. it scared me so much a woman keeps seeing something behind her in reflections and each time its closer. the scariest part was when she looked at her own shadow on the ground and it was the wrong shape, like something was standing inside her shadow or wait maybe it was a man not a woman?? i cant remember now

in folklore shadows that follow you are often soul stealers or harbingers. lots of cultures have stories about things that attach to your shadow or follow you if it appeared in multiple episodes maybe same entity hunting different people? or meant to represent something that can attach to anyone

@SymbologyNerd thats what i think too, it feels deliberate not just reused scare i THINK theres also episode about man who returns things people dropped and hes followed by something too?? but maybe thats different figure i cant remember

shadow figure motif is unusual for 1960s programming. most anthology horror of that era used traditional monsters, aliens, ghosts etc recurring abstract entity that defies definition is much more modern. which makes me wonder if our memories of show are influenced by more recent horror trends?? though i suppose it could of been ahead of its time

i was so scared of shadows after watching this i made my parents cover all mirrors in my room. i was convinced something was following me too my therapist says it was probably just childhood anxiety but i remember show being trigger. the woman (or man?) kept trying to tell people but nobody believed her how did it end tho?? did she escape? did it get her?? i cant remember ending at all

@ChildhoodTrauma thats the weird thing NOBODY can remember how episodes ended. we all remember bits but not resolutions its like our memories are incomplete or obscured somehow

@shiningbeacon with all due respect your getting into conspiracy territory. its a tv show, the shadow is probably just common horror trope multiple shows used and were conflating different programs fact nobody can remember details clearly is evidence AGAINST it being real not for it

@SkepticalMind i usually would agree but i live in bourke, the actual town, and about year ago i started noticing something in reflections. at first thought just imagination after reading about show online but its gotten closer, i can see it more clearly now, its not my shadow i know how this sounds but im not only person in town whos mentioned seeing things lately

my grandmother grew up in the bourke area, i asked her if she knew any old stories about shadow figures and she got really quiet she said there are places where "light bends wrong" and things can follow you back if your not careful. she wouldnt say more but she did say i should stop asking about it make of that what you will
